SEC Football Predictions for 2008

I think Alabama will come out of the west and play UF for the Championship, however, I think UGA will be 3rd in the east behind the Vols. Not trying to be a homer but UGA is overrated. everyone jumped on thier bandwagon when they beat Hawaii who had no buisness being in a BCS bowl.  Mathew Stafford is the biggest joke I have ever seen. I dont even know how he gets mentioned with the top QB's, what has he done, nothing! Knowshow is a good back, UGA's sucess will depend on thier defense. I am just not sold on UGA being a Natl contender.

...But then there's Knowshon Moreno; possibly the best back in college football next year. Georgia's gonna be good. I like the looks of those predictions, except that I believe Arkansas will probably win 7 and make a bowl game based on sheer name/conference factor.

SEC Football Predictions for 2008

Call me crazy but for some reason I think our boy Bobby Petrino is going to have to take his licks next year. He may get to a bowl but I don't think the Hogs will be much of a factor in the SEC West. In due time though he will get his recruits and win with them.

Georgia may be overrated but I think Stafford is legit. He looked awful at times as a freshman but I thought he bounced back nicely last year. As for the Vols they were a tempting pick for 2nd place as well. Fill me in vol u me is Crompton the starting QB and if so how is his injury? The East is stacked and as much as I hate to say it I think Florida has the best overall talent. Tebow is back and with Harvin the gaytors offense will be hard to stop. I think that loss to Michigan will also give them some motivation.

SEC Football Predictions for 2008

Crompton is the starter and had a good spring, 13-20 for 266 yds, 3 td's 1 int in orange/white game. Had surgery to remove loose particles in his elbow, will be out 3-5 weeks. Crompton is legit but if he struggles dont be suprised to see BJ Coleman come in. I just dont see it happening, I think it is Crompton's time to shine.

No. He is from Lynchburg TN, home of Jack Daniels.  That must explain how he got his name. Mom & Dad must have been kicking back on Grandpa's cough medicine.

SEC Football Predictions for 2008

Vanderbilt over Auburn for SEC Championship.

More seriously,

UGA looks great on paper but they have the toughest schedule in the nation. There is no clear frontrunner in the west, but I like Auburn especially with their retooled offense. I'm thinking the winner of the Iron Bowl will be your SEC West winner and the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will determine the East. I anticipate that Tennessee will struggle with their new offensive coordinator and Jonathon Crompton under center.  Arkansas rebuilds while Ole Miss might improve marginally and Miss State continues to get better. I fully expect UK to return to their pre-Andre Woodson status as SEC East cellar dwellers alongside my beloved Commodores.

I also took a long hard look at Auburn. I think LSU will be in a dog fight in the West with the Tigers. Georgia does play a really tough schedule which should benefit them if they can escape with one or two losses. It also could keep them out of the NC game so it can work both ways. Florida-UGA winner definitely takes the East I agree. Everyone better enjoy Arky's rebuilding year b/c Petrino won't have them down for long.

SEC Football Predictions for 2008

I agree with the majority of your predictions. I do believe Florida will we the team to beat in the SEC they are by the far the most talented. The SEC schedule is intense, however without an injury to Tim Tebow they will win the SEC. The only reason Georgia beat them last year was because Tebow was playing hurt. His injury hampered his normal game. Also, South Carolina in my opinion is the dark horse in the SEC east this year. They will finish a head of Tennessee. Finally I believe that team that finishs second in the west will come down to the anuall Iron bowl. I think Nick Saban's boys will win a close one finishing second in the west.

East

1. Florida
